Work on Romeo + Juliet

1st Task

Watch the scene which takes place in the gas station and answer the following questions.

1. Exactly, what had happened before they started fighting?
2. Which elements present in this scene did not exist in the sixteenth century? When did they appear?
3. In your opinion, why did the film-maker choose to add these elements in this scene?

You must answer these questions on a sheet of paper that you will have to give me when we meet again.

2nd task

Watch the scene(s) we have studied and underline:

1. in red the syllables which are accentuated
2. in green the H's which are pronounced
3. in blue the syllables which must be connected (examples: 'both alike', 'from ancient grudge')
4. read aloud being careful to accentuate properly and to pronounce properly the following sounds: /h/, /th/, /r/, /i/ and /i:/ (: means long)
